Sony Mobile unveiled two new smartphones - Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and Xperia M5 Dual - enhancing the picture taking abilities on both devices.
The Xperia C5 Ultra Dual is equipped with two 13 MP sensors on both the front and rear cameras.
The Xperia M5 Dual on the other hand has an improved 21.5MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera.
According to Sony, it is the first time that any smartphone has a 13MP camera on both ends.
Both cameras include Sony’s Exmor RS sensor, HDR for picture and video, and a preset auto scene recognition mode that analyses and adjusts settings automatically.
The M5 Dual has a 0.25-second hybrid autofocus with phase detection and contrast detection.
“We are pleased to present two new products that highlight Sony’s advances in camera technology,” said Tony McNulty, Vice-President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications.
Spyridon Gousetis Director Marketing, Middle East & Africa at Sony Mobile Communications speaking to Emirates 24|7 recently said the C and M series have been one of the top performers.
“We have been laying special emphasis to create a unique experience to users. An experience that cannot be found on other competing devices. That has resulted in pretty good sales that have exceeded our expectations,” he said.
The Xperia C5 Ultra Dual comes with a large 6 inch full HD display with IPS featuring Sony’s TV technology Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2.
The device s powered by a 1.7 GHz 64 bit Octa-core processor with 2GB RAM.
The smartphone Sony says can last upto two-day with an enhanced battery, and up to 7 hours 47 minutes of video playback.
Xperia M5 Dual comes with a 5 inch Full HD display enhanced by a BRAVIA Engine 2, a 64-bit 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor powered by MediaTek Helio X10 with 3GB RAM, is water and dust proof and is powered by a 2,600mAh battery.
Both Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and Xperia M5 Dual also have an expandable memory with up to 200GB.
