Activision Blizzard’s “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” On PC Finally Gets Due Attention

Activision Blizzard’s “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” On PC Finally Gets Due Attention
Activision Blizzard’s (NASDAQ:ATVI) "Call of Duty Black Ops 3" is coming to all current generation and previous generation platforms. For the first time in recent years, the developer of the game, Treyarch is finally giving attention to Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows PC version of the game. A while back, it was announced that the game’s PC version would be built from the ground up with a dedicated team and that it would not be a part of the game’s console version.
And now PC gamers can finally rejoice, as Treyarch has recently announced some good news for the game’s PC version at Gamescom 2015. It said that the PC version will finally have the split-screen feature people have requested for years. The studio also revealed a good number of features on its community website for the game’s PC version.
The first feature announced is the support of 2-player split screen which has been missing from the PC version of Call of Duty for a while now. The post also said that the game would support 4k resolution on the PC version. Also, it will feature optimizations catered specifically to low and mid-end PC builds, and some other optimizations specifically for SLI and CrossFire builds. The PC version will also feature a Field of View setting, Frames per Second Limiter Cap, an improved text chat system and a new anti-cheat system which they dubbed “Treyarch Anti-Cheat (TAC).” Treyarch added that the game would also have Dedicated Servers for PC.
This is good news for PC users who have been requesting the developers to give the PC version the attention it deserves. It will be interesting to see how the PC version fares when it releases. Along with the previous announcement, Treyarch released the minimum requirements for the upcoming game but until now there is no word on what the recommended requirements will be. Treyarch says that this is because they are continuously working on new features and optimizations, and because of this they have re-evaluate their recommended spec every time. But they said that their goal provided “the best performance over a wide range of hardware.”
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is set to release November 6 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Sony Corp’s (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
