This might be the first glimpse of BlackBerry's Android phone

Yep, BlackBerry is still trying. Rumors that the once-dominant smartphone maker is turning to Android are bearing fruit in the form of leaked images.
The image may have just given us our first real look at the BlackBerry "Venice," said to be the company's upcoming Android phone. The image was uncovered by CrackBerry.
The Venice seems to have a screen that wraps around both the phone’s edges, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. In classic BlackBerry fashion, the Venice is said to include a physical keyboard, which slides out from under the screen.

The photo leak comes days after mockups of the phone were leaked as well.

Aside from running Android and having a physical keyboard, phone is reportedly set to pack a 5.4-inch Quad HD screen, an 18-megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and a 1.8GHz Snapdragon processor. It’s said to launch on AT&T and T-Mobile.

Before the iPhone, it was hard to imagine a future without a BlackBerry in everyone's hands. But the company has become nearly irrelevant as consumers and businesses alike have moved away from the keyboard-clad phones in favor of iPhones and Android devices.

Blackberry has responded by putting its services on other platforms and shoring up its base by releasing an updated version of one of its classic designs, but that hasn't resulted in a dramatic turnaround.

Embracing Android wouldn't mean the company would stop supporting its own BlackBerry 10 platform, but it would represent a new era for the company, which had previously resisted building on other platforms.
