The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R is going to make an appearance at Pebble Beach as a celebration of BMW's 40th anniversary in North America. The car also marks the success of the original BMW 3.0 CSL which had a fantaastic first season in North American racing.
It its first season, the BMW 3.0 CSL won 12 Hours of Sebring, followed by a succession of victories, including one at Laguna Seca which is only 15 miles away from Pebble Beach. BMW’s first year in North America year ended in the white BMW 3.0 CSL, winning the manufacturers’ championship in its maiden attempt.
The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R pays a lot of attention to the driver integration in the car. Puma has designed a suit that has integrated LED lighting with BMW livery in it when both hands of the driver are on the wheel.
The car is one of the best concept cars ever and a pinnacle of engineering on the track.
